(ABC News: Scout Wallen)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Dr Adriana Nevarez Flores is a physiatrist and adjunct professor at the University of Tasmania who has been studying the prevalence of \u2014 and solutions to \u2014 seasonal affective disorder (SAD).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;I heard complaints in the street, on the bus, particularly in winter, and I was like, &#8216;something is happening here&#8217;,&#8221; Dr Flores said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">She authored a 2023 study that analysed the prevalence of SAD in Australia from studies dating back to the early 2000s.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Woman looks into camera in a living room with a soft smile\" class=\"Image_image__5tFYM ContentImage_image__DQ_cq\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/10623218728cc9e78c15eec4df850cc4\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"Image\" data-lazy=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP FigureCaption_text__zDxQ5 Typography_sizeMobile12__w_FPC Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Adriana Nevarez Flores has studied the prevalence of seasonal affective disorder in Australia.
