{"id":229405,"date":"2025-09-15T18:51:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T18:51:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/229405\/"},"modified":"2025-09-15T18:51:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T18:51:11","slug":"psychologists-sound-alarm-on-trump-dozing-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/229405\/","title":{"rendered":"Psychologists Sound Alarm on Trump Dozing Off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Two psychologists are warning that President Donald Trump\u2019s frequent confusion and mounting physical issues may be pointing to something more troubling than just aging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">On their podcast <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6aFcE95MBW4&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6aFcE95MBW4\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6aFcE95MBW4\">Shrinking Trump<\/a>, psychologists John Gartner and Harry Segal argued that the 79-year-old president is showing both physical and linguistic symptoms of what they call \u201cearly dementia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">They first cited Trump\u2019s recent appearance at the U.S. Open final. Andrew Harnik\/Getty Images <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cYou\u2019re at the finals of the U.S. Open, a riveting performance\u2026 you\u2019re the center of attention,\u201d said <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/johngartner.com\/&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/johngartner.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/johngartner.com\/\">Gartner<\/a>, who spent nearly three decades teaching at Johns Hopkins University Medical School.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cSo how does Trump react? Oh, he\u2019s asleep again, just like he slept through most of the days of his criminal trial,\u201d he continued, referencing Trump\u2019s historic <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/trial-appears-to-put-low-energy-trump-to-sleep\/&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/trial-appears-to-put-low-energy-trump-to-sleep\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/trial-appears-to-put-low-energy-trump-to-sleep\/\">criminal trial<\/a> in April 2024, where he appeared to nod off in court multiple times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Gartner cited involuntarily falling asleep at inappropriate times as an early sign of dementia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI just wanna point out, this isn\u2019t normal,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">They then turned to Trump\u2019s physical health, which has become a growing source of concern.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">After weeks of speculation over the president\u2019s swollen ankles, the White House admitted in July he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition where blood pools in the legs due to malfunctioning valves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Segal, however, suggested a more dire cause. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Shrinking Trump\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/C5SBIQLLP5FBRJBAFTBSVZ6H5Q.png\"  width=\"800\" height=\"440\"\/>\u201cThis isn\u2019t normal,\u201d psychologist John Gartner said about the president\u2019s health. Win McNamee\/Getty Images <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWhen you see someone with half their face drooping like that, that\u2019s not just someone being tired, that\u2019s not a normal face,\u201d Segal said. \u201cIt\u2019s significant,\u201d he insisted. \u201cAnd that\u2019s why I\u2019m showing it, not just to make fun of him or to joke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In response, the White House shared a statement from MAGA loyalist and disgraced doctor <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/white-house-uses-disgraced-doctor-to-declare-trump-healthy\/&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/white-house-uses-disgraced-doctor-to-declare-trump-healthy\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/white-house-uses-disgraced-doctor-to-declare-trump-healthy\/\">Rep. Ronny Jackson,<\/a> which reads:<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cAs President Trump\u2019s former personal physician, former Physician to the President, and White House physician for 14 years across three administrations, I can tell you unequivocally: President Donald J. Trump is the healthiest president this nation has ever seen. I continue to consult with his current physician and medical team at the White House and still spend significant time with the President. He is mentally and physically sharper than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">An avalanche of musings on Trump\u2019s mortality has hit social media in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Google searches for \u201cIs Trump dead?\u201d and \u201cTrump dead\u201d <a onclick=\"_sendArticleBodyInlineLinkClickAnalytics(&#039;https:\/\/trends.google.com\/trending?geo=US&amp;hl=en-US&amp;hours=48&#039;)\" href=\"https:\/\/trends.google.com\/trending?geo=US&amp;hl=en-US&amp;hours=48\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/trends.google.com\/trending?geo=US&amp;hl=en-US&amp;hours=48\" target=\"_blank\">skyrocketed<\/a> earlier this month, following the president\u2019s four-day disappearance from public view.
