A 66-year-old woman was hospitalized after someone shot her early Monday morning inside a Germantown<\/a> rooming house, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded just before 3 a.m. to a report of a shooting on the 4600 block of Wayne Avenue, according to authorities. They found the woman inside a second-floor apartment with a single gunshot wound to the left side of her abdomen, law enforcement officials said.<\/p>\n

She was rushed to Temple University Hospital and is expected to survive, the PPD added.\n<\/p>\n

Investigators said the victim was in the bathroom when she heard a gunshot outside the door and felt pain. She called 911 and waited for authorities to arrive, police said.\n<\/p>\n

No arrests were reported in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, and the circumstances remain under investigation, officials said. A PPD spokesperson told Metro<\/a> that detectives do not believe the incident was a home invasion.<\/p>\n

Through Sunday, Sept. 14, 716 people had been shot in Philadelphia this year, down 9% compared to the same date in 2024, according to PPD data<\/a>.<\/p>\n
