Carlos Alcaraz has a big dilemma ahead of him after Spain were able to produce a comeback victory to qualify for the Davis Cup Finals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alcaraz withdrew from Spain\u2019s Davis Cup qualifier<\/a> very shortly after winning the US Open<\/a> title to return to the top of the ATP<\/a> rankings.<\/p>\n

It appeared that Alcaraz\u2019s<\/a> absence would be costly for Spain, who trailed Denmark 2-0 before making a fightback.<\/p>\n

After Spain beat the likes of Holger Rune, who was heavily criticised<\/a>, and Elmer Moller, it has left Alcaraz with a big decision to make in the near future.<\/p>\n

After having a week off following his sixth Grand Slam at the US Open, Alcaraz has a busy schedule<\/a> for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n

The last tournament that was originally on Alcaraz\u2019s radar was the ATP Finals<\/a>, which he has already qualified for alongside Jannik Sinner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, the Davis Cup<\/a> Finals take place in the following week after the ATP Finals in Bologna.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz has been critical of the busy tennis schedule<\/a> before, and would perhaps have preferred to have an extra week in the off-season.<\/p>\n

That being said, after already electing not to represent Spain twice already this year, Alcaraz will probably not want to miss the opportunity to represent his country again as the top ranked singles player.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz also appears to be invested in the competition, after sending a message to his Spanish teammates following their dramatic comeback win.<\/p>\n

The world number one has also signed up to play an exhibition in Newark at the start of December and it would probably not be a good look if he played that and did not show up to represent his country on the biggest stage of the Davis Cup.<\/p>\n

Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s record at the Davis Cup<\/p>\n

Alcaraz has not played in Davis Cup competition this year, but he was a very active participant for Spain last year.<\/p>\n

This includes at the Davis Cup Finals, where Alcaraz lost a deciding doubles match that ended Rafael Nadal\u2019s career<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz does not have too long to decide if he will represent Spain once again this year at the Davis Cup Finals in Bologna, which begin on November, 18.<\/p>\n
