\n\tOscar-nominated actress Mary McDonnell<\/a> is joining the cast of two forthcoming projects. <\/p>\n

\n\tMcDonnell is set to star in thriller feature One Second After and will also appear in Marvel<\/a> Television\u2019s Vision series<\/a>, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe actress joins previously announced castmembers Josh Holloway<\/a> and Hannah John-Kamen<\/a> in director Scott Rogers\u2019 One Second After. A co-production between MPI Original Films and Startling Inc., the movie adapts author William R. Forstchen\u2019s 2009 sci-fi novel of the same name. McDonnell will portray Jen, the astute mother-in-law to John (Holloway) who looks after his daughters after an electromagnetic pulse attack throws society into chaos. <\/p>\n

\n\tMcDonnell\u2019s role has not been disclosed for Disney+\u2019s Vision show that wrapped principal photography over the summer. Series creator Terry Matalas\u2019 follow-up to WandaVision includes Paul Bettany<\/a> as android Vision and James Spader as Ultron<\/a>. A premiere date has not yet been announced. <\/p>\n

\n\tOne Second After has a script from J. Michael Straczynski<\/a> (Sense8,\u00a0Babylon 5) and is set to begin filming this month in Sofia, Bulgaria. Producers include Rob Pfaltzgraff and Nick Reid for MPI, alongside Matt Kennedy for Startling Inc.<\/p>\n

\n\tRogers is known for working as a stunt coordinator and second unit director on such projects as Tron: Ares and John Wick: Chapter 4. <\/p>\n

\n\tMcDonnell earned Academy Award nominations for her roles in Dances With Wolves<\/a> and Passion Fish. She is also known for such films as Scream 4, Donnie Darko, Independence Day and Sneakers, in addition to her work on an array of series including The Fall of the House of Usher, Major Crimes, Battlestar Galactica and Grey\u2019s Anatomy. She received Emmy Award nominations for The Closer and ER.<\/p>\n
