27-year-old Gregory Paige was shot and killed by police in St. Marys, Georgia.<\/a><\/p>\nHis family says they\u2019re still grieving \u2014 and waiting for answers.<\/p>\n
Now, they\u2019re calling for body camera video to be released, with the Camden County NAACP standing alongside them.<\/p>\n
Catherine Paige, Gregory\u2019s aunt and sister of his mother, says the family is struggling to cope.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is not getting any better. We need closure,” says Paige. “She needs closure to go to sleep at night. She can\u2019t even sleep. She\u2019s constantly repeating the gunshots over and over in her mind.”<\/p>\n
Gregory Paige\u2019s mother continues to relive the night her son died.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old was shot outside the Cumberland Oaks Apartments more than a month ago. His family says the pain hasn\u2019t eased, and questions remain unanswered.<\/p>\n
Video circulating online \u2013 Social media videos of the shooting have made the family’s grief worse.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe never pictured our life in this way, like having a baby. My nephew never crossed my mind like you just do not know when your last day is gonna be. So if it was an accident, it probably would be OK, but he was murdered,\u201d said Catherine Paige.<\/p>\n
The Camden County Sheriff\u2019s Office says the incident began with a 911 call about Paige making threats and acting aggressively. Deputies went to arrest him \u2014 and two officers opened fire.<\/p>\n
The family tells First Coast News only full transparency can bring peace.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo we just wanted to bring more awareness concerning this particular case and make sure again that that Mr. Page family get justice about what actually happened and get answers concerning what actually happened inside that apartment that night,\u201d said the NAACP Camden County President.<\/p>\n
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the shooting.
