\n\tJamie Lee Curtis<\/a> sobbed on Marc Maron\u2019s \u201cWTF\u201d podcast when she brought up Charlie Kirk<\/a>, the 31-year-old conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder who was fatally shot in the neck on Sept. 10 at a Utah college. Curits and Maron recorded their podcast a few days after the assassination.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m going to bring something up with you just because it\u2019s front of mind,\u201d Curtis said before mistakenly naming Kirk as \u201cCharlie Crist,\u201d which Curtis said was a slip-of-the-tongue due to Kirk\u2019s \u201cdeep, deep belief\u201d in religion.<\/p>\n

\n\tCurtis then fought through tears as she discussed Kirk\u2019s killing, saying: \u201cI disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say, but I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died, that he felt connected with his faith. Even though his ideas were abhorrent to me. I still believe he\u2019s a father and a husband and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYesterday was 9\/11. I know there is video of his assassination. I know people who\u2019ve seen it,\u201d Curtis added through tears. \u201cYesterday [on 9\/11], we watched again these images of those buildings\u00a0coming down. \u2026 Today, we as a society are bombarded with imagery. So we don\u2019t know what the longitudinal effects of seeing those towers come down over and over and over and over again, or watching his execution over and over and over again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCurtis re-emphasized the circulation of videos of Kirk\u2019s death by saying: \u201cWe don\u2019t know enough psychologically about what that does. What does that do? That kind of \u2014 I don\u2019t ever want to see this footage of this man being shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMany of Hollywood\u2019s prominent liberal figures spoke out against Kirk\u2019s killing in the days after the assassination. Jimmy Kimmel\u00a0took to Instagram<\/a> in real time to post: \u201cInstead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human? On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.\u201d<\/p>\n
