Courtesy of Douglas Elliman<\/p>\n<p>Drummond, who was also Tony-nominated, once played Ross and Monica Geller\u2019s maternal grandmother, Althea, in a \u201cFriends\u201d episode called, \u201cThe One Where Nana Dies Twice.\u201d It was the only time Drummond appeared on the beloved \u201990s series. The stage and screen actress was also known for playing quirky TV and film characters, like Alice, the librarian in the opening scene of the 1984 film, \u201cGhostbusters.\u201d She also appeared in films like \u201cAwakenings,\u201d \u201cDoubt\u201d and \u201cAce Ventura: Pet Detective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gable, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/12\/02\/movies\/alice-drummond-dead-actress.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drummond\u2019s friend and executor of her will<\/a>, has owned the apartment since 2018, according to property records.<\/p>\n<p>The two-bedroom, two-bath apartment is at 351 E. 50th St., a five-story elevator townhouse between First and Second avenues that dates to the 1900s. It comes with its own private garden.<\/p>\n<p>At 930 square feet, the dwelling is anchored by an open living and dining area with exposed brick and a decorative fireplace. Oversized glass doors open to the charming garden \u2014 the home\u2019s crown jewel. <\/p>\n<p>At around 500 square feet, that open garden space is an ideal spot for entertaining and dining al fresco.<\/p>\n<p>The main bedroom features exposed brick, a decorative fireplace, a large closet and an ensuite bath, while the rear bedroom boasts three oversized windows framing the greenspace.<\/p>\n<p>If organized in this fashion, a bedroom can fill with light.
