The University of Texas at Arlington says they’ve set a new record for enrollment, driven by its largest freshman class in history.<\/p>\n
UTA said this year’s freshman class of 5,100 first-time college students is an increase of 7.6% compared to last fall. The total enrollment is now 42,710, an annual increase of 2.6%, and is the largest in the school’s 130-year history.<\/p>\n
UTA said five colleges also experienced enrollment jumps, including: <\/p>\n
\u201cA UTA degree has never been more valued or sought after by students from across Texas and beyond,\u201d UTA President Jennifer Cowley said. \u201cStudents want to be Mavericks, and employers want to hire them.\u201d<\/p>\n
UTA said the school is among the top 5% of research institutions nationwide and is one of 21 universities recognized by the Carnegie Classification of Higher Education\u2019s new designations for expanding access to higher education and helping graduates earn competitive wages.<\/p>\n
In 2024, UTA reported<\/a> an enrollment of 41,613, including 29,271 undergraduate students, 10,769 graduate students and 1,573 postbaccalaureate students. According to UTA’s website, the school offers more than 180 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs across nine schools and colleges. It is the second-largest institution in the UT System<\/a>, which includes nine academic institutions and four health institutions.<\/p>\n
