Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The statement comes after Trump\u00a0threatened last week to sue the New York Times for its reporting related to a sexually suggestive note and drawing given to Epstein.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, I have the Great Honor of bringing a $15 Billion Dollar Defamation and Libel Lawsuit against The New York Times,\u201d Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside regular business hours.<\/p>\n<p>Trump accused the paper of lying about him, his family and businesses, as well as Republican-led movements and ideologies such as the America First Movement, and Make America Great Again, or MAGA.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37123606\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-1447719993_8a96f6.jpg\" alt=\"The New York Times headquarters is seen on December 08, 2022 in New York City.\" class=\"wp-image-37123606\"  \/>The New York Times headquarters is seen on Dec. 8, 2022 in New York City.
