Many of the celebrated talents and event coordinators were USC students and alumni.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cDuring the production of Sunday\u2019s show, a lot of the people I was working with were USC Alumni,\u201d senior cinema and media studies student Ava Kelly said. \u201cThis was a wonderful way to be connected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Kelly has been working on the pre-production for the Emmys for the last eight weeks while interning with Jesse Collins Entertainment and the Academy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThis internship has been the first time I have ever been around this kind of live entertainment,\u201d Kelly said. \u201cThe 12-hour days on set are exactly what I want to be doing with my life\u2026..For me, I think it is really special to be that person behind the scenes, because you really are telling a story when you are directing someone\u2019s achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">For Kate D\u2019Amaro \u2014 a sophomore studying business of cinematic arts \u2014 attending the Emmys was surreal. She was able to get tickets through her father, who attends different awards ceremonies. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A moment from the evening that stood out to D\u2019Amaro was Sydney Sweeney\u2019s award presentation, which marked one of Sweeney\u2019s first public appearances following her controversial American Eagle campaign that sparked outrage amongst many.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWhat was noteworthy to me about her is that when she was presenting\u2026she didn\u2019t do any monologue before,\u201d D\u2019Amaro said. \u201cI wonder if that was a choice on her end, or if they wanted her to get in and out of there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">USC students were also among the staff who helped run the ceremony behind the scenes.
