{"id":230945,"date":"2025-09-16T08:46:21","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T08:46:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/230945\/"},"modified":"2025-09-16T08:46:21","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T08:46:21","slug":"founder-seeby-woodhouse-retakes-the-reins-at-voyager-as-deidre-steyn-moves-to-aws","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/230945\/","title":{"rendered":"Founder Seeby Woodhouse retakes the reins at Voyager as Deidre Steyn moves to AWS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Voyager Internet founder Seeby Woodhouse will return as the internet service provider\u2019s chief executive to replace Deidre Steyn, who is taking on a senior role with Amazon Web Services.<\/p>\n<p>The move, which is effective 1 October, marked a significant new chapter in the company\u2019s journey, Voyager said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited and energised to be stepping back into the role of CEO,\u201d Woodhouse said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is very much a next chapter, not a reset. Voyager has strong momentum, and my focus will be on building on the existing strategy and continuing to deliver great outcomes for our customers and partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Woodhouse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reseller.co.nz\/article\/1308732\/voyager-internet-promotes-steyn-to-ceo-as-wallis-steps-back.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">thanked Steyn<\/a> for the energy, focus, and leadership she\u2019s brought to Voyager. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe has made a real difference and leaves the business in a stronger position,\u201d he said. \u201cWhile we are sad to see her go, we\u2019re proud that a global company like AWS has recognised her world-class talent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the most recent Commerce Commission assessment of Telecommunications Development Levy contributions, for the year to the end of June 2024, Voyager earned $10.3M of leviable revenue, the 19th largest provider of such services in New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>This has been growing slowly but steadily in what is now a mature market. However, the company also delivers services not subject to the levy such as cloud, communications and cybersecurity.
