several industries in recent months as companies struggle to deal with persistent overcapacity and sluggish demand, <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/economy\/china-economy\/article\/3324962\/chinese-consumer-prices-slip-back-decline-amid-deflationary-pressures?module=Economic%20Indicators&amp;pgtype=section?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"noopener\">exacerbating deflationary pressure<\/a> on the Chinese economy.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cIndustry associations should guide companies to improve product quality, favour quality over price, and oppose low-quality products,\u201d Xi said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOutdated production capacity should be phased out in an orderly manner, and policies should address <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\"
