One of the most curious horror movies still left in the remainder of 2025 is the Paul Rudd <\/strong>and Jack Black<\/strong>-starring Anaconda<\/strong>, a reboot of the 1997 monster movie that for some reason is taking a meta approach to the material and is for some reason releasing on Christmas Day.<\/p>\n

In any event, it\u2019s happening, and PEOPLE<\/a> has shared the very first images from the project that\u2019s mostly been shrouded in secrecy up to this point. Check out the first-look images below!<\/p>\n

Chatting with PEOPLE, Jack Black describes the film as \u201can exciting mix of comedy and horror.\u201d He adds, \u201cBuckle up for the thrill ride of the season \u2014\u00a0Anaconda\u00a0is coming!\u201d<\/p>\n

Thandiwe Newton<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cWestworld\u201d),\u00a0Steve Zahn<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cSilo,\u201d\u00a0Joy Ride), Selton Mello<\/strong>, Ione Skye\u00a0<\/strong>(Say Anything, Haunt), and\u00a0Daniela Melchior\u00a0<\/strong>(The Suicide Squad) also star.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Anaconda\u2018s big screen return, \u201cBest friends Doug and Griff have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie: the cinematic classic, Anaconda. But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. The movie they\u2019re dying to make? It might just get them killed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tom Gormican<\/strong>\u00a0(The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) is scripting and directing.<\/p>\n

The original film was directed by Luis Llosa, and it featured an ensemble cast including Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz, Owen Wilson and Danny Trejo.<\/p>\n

In the 1997 movie, a film crew is taken hostage by an insane hunter, who forces them along on his quest to capture the world\u2019s largest \u2013 and deadliest \u2013 snake.<\/p>\n

The movie ended up spawning three sequels between 2004 and 2009, and the\u00a0Anaconda\u00a0franchise more recently\u00a0battled the\u00a0Lake Placid\u00a0franchise<\/a>\u00a0in a 2015 crossover.<\/p>\n
