The music video shoot that brought traffic to a temporary standstill<\/a> on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas last Tuesday is now out. <\/p>\n

Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug<\/a> and Shaboozey <\/a>on Friday released a nearly four-minute-visual companion to their single, \u201cHome\u201d with cheeky nods to the daylong commotion they caused for motorists on the iconic bridge. <\/p>\n

The eastbound lane of the bridge was closed<\/a> from 9:40 am until around 5 p.m. to accommodate their production, per police. <\/p>\n

Some Dallas-area commuters had expressed dismay<\/a> in interviews with The Dallas Morning News about the music video\u2019s approval, given that filming coincided with rush hour traffic and led to gridlock and vehicle detours that stretched for several hours. <\/p>\n

The \u201cHome\u201d video features a clip of KXAS-TV\u2019s news broadcast of the incident (although the reporter\u2019s voice sounded pitched down presumably for copyright reasons). The station declined to comment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

At the heart of the video and the song is yearning \u2013 someone rushing home on the highway to return to their lover. <\/p>\n

\u201cHighway, highway \/ Oh, won\u2019t you take me home for a minute? It\u2019s lonely on this road\u201d Shaboozey sang on the chorus. <\/p>\n

BigXthaPlug, who rose to fame with his Lone Star State anthem \u201cTexas\u201d in 2022, has teased the release of his country album for the past few months. <\/p>\n

The 27-year-old rapper has teamed up on recent singles with country singers Bailey Zimmerman and Teddy Swims respectively. <\/p>\n

Earlier in the year, he was also pictured<\/a> in a recording studio with Grapevine artist Post Malone, who began his career as a rapper before pivoting toward pop and most recently country in his crossover 2024 project F-1 Trillion. <\/p>\n
