The protest began at Manolo Market on Main Street and people marched to El Cajon City Hall.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re here to make their voices heard. We want them to know that we are here to support them. I want them to know that we hear them. That we see them and that we feel their trauma,\u201d Violet of \u201cYo Soy El Cajon\u201d said.<\/p>\n

Violet\u2019s family has personal experience with recent immigration enforcement measures.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy brother-in-law got taken away. The dynamics are very hard to see. There\u2019s a lot of sadness, there\u2019s a lot of trauma, there\u2019s a lot of depression and anxiety because of separation,\u201d Violet said.<\/p>\n

Recent immigration enforcement in San Diego has received a lot of attention<\/p>\n

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted \u201cworksite enforcement operations\u201d<\/a> at Italian restaurant Buona Forchetta which led to four employees being detained.<\/p>\n

Recently, plain clothes law enforcement agents arrested<\/a> a housekeeper outside of the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley.<\/p>\n

Violet points to those and other incidents as the reason why she will continue to speak out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will continue this fight, and I will be their voices.
