Michigan State basketball has extended an offer to a local prospect with longtime ties to the Spartans program.<\/p>\n
Kingston Thomas of East Lansing, Mich. announced on Tuesday that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. Thomas shared the notable recruiting news via a post<\/a> on social media on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Kingston Thomas is the son of David Thomas, who played at Michigan State and once served as the Spartans Director of Basketball Operations. David Thomas was a member of the Spartans’ 2000 National Championship team under head coach Tom Izzo, and served as the Director of Basketball Operations at Michigan State for an extended period of time.<\/p>\n Kingston Thomas plays for East Lansing High School, and has already picked up interest from numerous Mid-American Conference schools. According to The D Zone<\/a>, Kingston Thomas has offers from Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan<\/a>, Western Michigan, Toledo and Bowling Green State.<\/p>\n It’s unclear at this time if the Spartans are extending Kingston Thomas a scholarship offer or something in-line with a preferred walk-on spot.
