The Los Angeles City Council Tuesday approved the appointment of Patrice Lattimore as the next City Clerk, who will oversee next year\u2019s elections and an ongoing process to update the City Charter.<\/p>\n
Council members voted unanimously to confirm Lattimore. Mayor Karen Bass nominated her last week to serve as the City Clerk, citing her extensive career working within the office.<\/p>\n
Lattimore serves as the chief management analyst for the City Clerk\u2019s office, where she has developed a legislative management system and increased Spanish language accessibility for all council and committee meetings.<\/p>\n
Lattimore received her bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology from the University of Southern California, and later earned her master\u2019s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Los Angeles Pacific University.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve had the pleasure of being with the city for 26 years and with the office of the City Clerk for 24 of those years, and so I\u2019m well acquainted with the task ahead of me,\u201d Lattimore said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will ensure we consistently operate with the highest standards of efficiency and responsiveness by leveraging modern technology and optimizing all available resources,\u201d she added. \u201cIt\u2019s important to me that we streamline service delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n
Councilwoman Imelda Padilla thanked Lattimore for taking up the role, adding that she\u2019s excited knowing the next clerk will focus on enhancing systems and improving efficiency.<\/p>\n
Lattimore is set to start in the role Sept. 24. She will replace former City Clerk Holly Wolcott, who retired in January following a 37-year career at City Hall.
