{"id":232019,"date":"2025-09-16T19:19:14","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T19:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/232019\/"},"modified":"2025-09-16T19:19:14","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T19:19:14","slug":"nyc-nursing-home-resident-beaten-to-death-by-95-year-old-dementia-patient-idd-as-holocaust-survivor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/232019\/","title":{"rendered":"NYC nursing home resident beaten to death by 95-year-old dementia patient ID&#8217;d as Holocaust survivor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Coney Island nursing home resident allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/15\/us-news\/woman-with-dementia-95-beats-fellow-nyc-nursing-home-resident-to-death-with-piece-of-wheelchair-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">beaten to death by a 95-year-old dementia patient<\/a> was ID\u2019d by police \u2013 as the victim\u2019s daughter remembered her as a Holocaust survivor who gave it all for her family.<\/p>\n<p>Nina Kravtsov, 89, was mortally injured when the unidentified fellow resident of Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center bludgeoned her with a metal wheelchair piece just after 10 p.m. Sunday, according to cops and law enforcement sources.<\/p>\n<p>Kravstov \u2013 found lying in bed with a bleeding head wound \u2013 was rushed to NYU Brooklyn Hospital, where she was initially listed in critical condition, cops and sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Nina Kravtsov, 89, a Holocaust survivor from Ukraine, has been identified as the woman beaten to death by a fellow resident Sunday night inside the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Obtained by the NY Post<\/p>\n<p>She succumbed to her injuries several hours later, early Monday, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now I\u2019m grieving\u2026.the circumstances of how [my mother] died,\u201d Kravtsov\u2019s daughter, Lucy Flom, told The Post when reached by phone Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Flom remembered her mother as a Holocaust survivor who sacrificed for the good of her loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>Kravtsov moved to the US so her daughter, Lucy Flom, could have a good education. Obtained by the NY Post<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was 5-years old when she was in the ghetto. She had a big family. She lost most of her family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kravtsov launched a nursing career in Ukraine, where \u201ceverybody loved her,\u201d and she was also a teen mom, her daughter said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe sacrificed a lot,\u201d Flom said. \u201cShe was a single mom. She had me when she was 18.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe came here to give me a good education,\u201d she added. \u201cShe was a very dedicated mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was a nice lady. She was like many moms \u2013 very loving, caring, devoted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kravtsov also worked as a nurse in Ukraine, her daughter said. Obtained by the NY Post<\/p>\n<p>Flom said her mother later remarried as the daughter gained a stepbrother and stepsister.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was a mom to all of us,\u201d Flom said. \u201cWe are just grieving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kravtsov also had many friends in Brighton Beach \u2013 where she lived for years \u2013 some of whom have since passed away, her daughter said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey all loved her,\u201d Flom said. \u201cI loved her, too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kravtsov \u201cwas like many moms \u2013 very loving, caring, devoted,\u201d her daughter said.<br \/>\n Facebook\/Lucy Flom<\/p>\n<p>Kravtsov moved to the nursing home about 5 years ago after the death of her husband, her former neighbors in Brighton Beach told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe lived here for a very long time,\u201d one resident said. \u201cWhen her husband passed, she was living alone and her daughter took her to the nursing home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kravtsov was mortally injured when a 95-year-old woman allegedly beat her with a metal wheelchair piece just after 10 p.m. Sunday inside the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, cops and sources said. KYLE MAZZA\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>Following the deadly attack, the older senior was taken to Coney Island Hospital for both a physical and psychiatric evaluation, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>She remained at the hospital Tuesday as cops conferred with the Brooklyn District Attorney\u2019s Office about what \u2013 if any \u2013 charges she should face, the sources said.<\/p>\n<p>The wheelchair piece she allegedly used in the brutal attack was lying on the pavement just outside the facility behind blue crime scene tape Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The metal wheelchair piece used in the attack could be seen on the ground outside the facility on Monday.
