SAN ANTONIO – Just off of I-37 on the East Side, a tremendous display of local art and culture is coming to the Alamo City!<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, San Antonio Parks and Recreation, alongside the San Antonio Street Art Initiative, announced that a first-of-its-kind outdoor art exhibition is coming to Healy Murphy Park.<\/p>\n

The installation is a product of four years of research, design, canvassing, and finally construction at Healy Murphy Park to bring the new community spectacle to life.<\/p>\n

The new park includes a breakdancing pad and mosaic cypher, with the mosaic designed by J Muzacz and handcrafted by over 100 community members and breakdancers. <\/p>\n

Also included is San Antonio’s first-ever street-art basketball court, featuring bright, bold colors, with the letters E-A-S-T across its surface.<\/p>\n

Finally, the main attraction comes in the form of the “Dream Walls,” ten monumental concrete walls that will come alive as they are painted by 10 different local artists during the Oct. 4 opening ceremony.<\/p>\n

“Each year during LOGIT, the walls will be repainted, ensuring the park remains a living, ever-evolving destination for world-class art, creative exchange, and career-building opportunities for artists both local and global,” said Healy Murphy Park in a statement.<\/p>\n

This installation is set to open to the public from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 4, with a grand opening ceremony, complete with a painting of the Dream Walls at the Healy Murphy Park.<\/p>\n
