{"id":232153,"date":"2025-09-16T20:29:33","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T20:29:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/232153\/"},"modified":"2025-09-16T20:29:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T20:29:33","slug":"adot-wants-creative-sign-ideas-for-a-chance-to-be-displayed-along-arizona-highways","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/232153\/","title":{"rendered":"ADOT wants creative sign ideas for a chance to be displayed along Arizona highways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\"><b>PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 If you know Valley highways, there\u2019s a good chance you know the Arizona Department of Transportation\u2019s iconic safety messages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">Those signs often include humor to grab your attention, and for the ninth year in a row, ADOT is asking the public to submit their own creative traffic safety messages for the signs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">Submissions can be made online at <a href=\"https:\/\/azdot.gov\/safety-message-contest\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">azdot.gov\/SignContest<\/a> now through Sept. 22., but there are a few rules to keep in mind: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>The message must relate to traffic safety<\/li>\n<li>Message can be a max of 3 lines with 18 characters per line<\/li>\n<li>No hashtags, emojis, phone numbers or websites are allowed in the message<\/li>\n<li>Ampersands (&amp;) ARE allowed and can save character space<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">ADOT will review all the entries and narrow the contest to 10 finalists. The public will then vote on which two messages will appear on safety signs along Arizona\u2019s highways.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Last year, the two winning signs were chosen by a poll of more than 3,200 votes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"The 2024 winners of ADOT's Saftey Message contest.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/gray-kpho-prod.gtv-cdn.com\/resizer\/v2\/6RJXPGA4GJCWPPSSKMCVWFVCJI.png?auth=4e57a221b9856f0f1ca07d7c8c61f05d026a80ebf20d743b1db37f92822a5aa9&amp;width=980&amp;height=551&amp;smart=true\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>The 2024 winners of ADOT&#8217;s Saftey Message contest.(Arizona Department of Transportation)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The contest\u2019s goal is to allow Arizonans to engage in conversation about making better driving decisions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to statewide crash data, there were 1,228 people killed in crashes on Arizona\u2019s roads in 2024, and many of these deaths were preventable.
