This is a matchup of two of the top teams in District 4-6A<\/a>. Southlake Carroll, a 6A Division II state finalist in 2024, is 3-0 with wins over Midland, Trophy Club Byron Nelson and Hebron. Euless Trinity is also 3-0 with wins against Houston Strake Jesuit, Midland Legacy and Keller Central. Carroll has outscored opponents 136-10, while Trinity has a 106-30 scoring margin. Trinity has three running backs with over 100 yards rushing, while Carroll has two wide receivers with over 200 yards receiving.<\/p>\n

Duncanville (1-0) won its season opener against South Oak Cliff but could face rust after not playing in Week 1 or 3. Three different wide receivers caught a touchdown in Duncanville\u2019s first game, and running back Brayden Arnold had 14 carries for 102 yards and two scores. Waxahachie, which lost 41-17 to Duncanville last season, is 2-0. Waxahachie quarterback Jerry Meyer III, a TCU commit, has thrown for 504 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions. Kohen Brown, a Texas commit, has 12 catches for 234 yards and one touchdown; he also plays cornerback.<\/p>\n

North Crowley, the defending 6A Division I state champion, has trailed in all three of its games this season but rallied to win each time. The Panthers have beaten Lancaster, DeSoto and Denton Guyer. Rockwall (1-2) lost its Week 2 and 3 games by eight or fewer points each. North Crowley beat Rockwall 70-17 last season.<\/p>\n

Frisco Wakeland has started 3-0, while Frisco Reedy is 2-1 after winning its last two games. Reedy defeated Wakeland 35-0 last season. Wakeland quarterback Jayden Maples, a three-star recruit, has 510 total yards and 10 touchdowns. Running back Braxton Cole has 384 yards and two scores. Reedy quarterback Lincoln Harn leads his team in passing (756 yards) and rushing (183 yards), with nine total touchdowns and two interceptions.<\/p>\n

Prosper (2-0) did not play in Week 3 but dominated its first two games against Austin Westlake and Rockwall-Heath, compiling at least 500 yards of offense in each. Quarterback Braeden Imhoff led all Dallas-area 6A passers with 737 yards after two weeks. Prosper beat McKinney Boyd 55-17 last season. McKinney Boyd is 1-1 after beating North Garland and losing to Plano West. Quarterbacks Marcus Johnson and Major Smith have each completed 17 passes and thrown for two touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Lancaster\u2019s Sir\u2019Eric Scarbrough is 18th in receiving yards (239) among Dallas-area 6A players. The Tigers started 0-2 with losses to state champions North Crowley and Aledo but beat Hebron 27-20 last week, a game in which Scarbrough had nine catches for 143 yards and a touchdown. They will look to build on that against Mesquite Horn (0-2), which has losses to Mansfield and Arlington Lamar. Lancaster won this District 11-6A matchup last season.<\/p>\n

DeSoto has had one of the most unusual starts to the season in the Dallas area. It opened with a loss of more than 40 points to an out-of-state opponent, then blew a 14-point lead in a loss to North Crowley. The Eagles followed that with a 70-point win over Corpus Christi Miller. That leaves three different versions of DeSoto, and Friday will show which one takes the field. Mesquite, under first-year head coach Rafael Thomas, has a 1-2 record. While DeSoto is coming off a big win, the Skeeters are trying to rebound from a 49-14 loss to North Forney in their district opener.<\/p>\n

Mansfield Lake Ridge, one of the biggest stories of the season, is 3-0 after going 1-19 the last two years. The Eagles erased a 20-point deficit to beat Richardson 34-27 last week. They face a major test against North Forney (3-0), which has scored at least 49 points in every game. North Forney quarterback Legend Bey, a four-star Tennessee commit, has 681 total yards and 13 touchdowns with no interceptions.<\/p>\n

The game features a matchup of state championship-winning coaches \u2014 Anna\u2019s Seth Parr against Lovejoy\u2019s Todd Dodge. The quarterback duel is also key: Lovejoy\u2019s Jacob Janecek, pledged to Stephen F. Austin, has accounted for 560 total yards and seven touchdowns. Anna\u2019s Ziondre Williams has thrown for 349 yards and four scores. Lovejoy beat Anna 66-62 last season.<\/p>\n

Highland Park has the fifth-ranked total offense (450.3 yards per game) and top-ranked passing offense (316.0 yards per game) in the area.<\/p>\n

Crosstown rivals Frisco Centennial and Frisco Lone Star are at different points. Lone Star has a top-20 offense (417.3 yards per game) and defense (223.0) among area 5A teams. Centennial\u2019s offense ranks 20th (325.7), but its defense is struggling and is coming off a 55-0 loss to Frisco. Centennial will need to run the ball effectively and stop a balanced Lone Star offense.<\/p>\n

However, Allen\u2019s offense is rolling<\/a>, scoring 38, 46 and 70 points in a 3-0 start. Quarterback Jeremiah Daoud has thrown for 339 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions and an 81% completion percentage. His top target, Caleb Smith, has 19 catches for 318 yards and two scores. Allen beat Plano 38-21 last season.<\/p>\n
