Bryson DeChambeau experienced a frustrating second round at LIV Dallas on Saturday, and trails the leader, Patrick Reed, by nine shots heading into day three. <\/strong><\/p>\n

DeChambeau<\/a> carded his second consecutive round of level-par 72 at LIV Dallas, with Maridoe Golf Club proving to be a really stern test.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old is in his hometown this week, and had genuine ambitions to win the event. However, he\u2019s a long way behind Reed<\/a> after two rounds.<\/p>\n

He is the biggest star on LIV Golf<\/a> and received huge support at Maridoe during the first two rounds.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau\u2019s contract with LIV expires next year<\/a>, but the good news for fans of the Saudi-backed outfit is that he seemingly has plans to extend his current deal.<\/p>\n

The two-time major champion has actually experienced a tough run of form of late. DeChambeau missed the cut at the US Open<\/a> two weeks ago, and he definitely hasn\u2019t had his \u2018A\u2019 game during the first two rounds in Dallas this week.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau will have to play out of his skin on Sunday in Dallas if he is to catch Reed.<\/p>\n

He will probably need \u2018Captain America\u2019 to come back to him a little bit as well.<\/p>\n

After his second round at Maridoe on Friday, DeChambeau was asked if he believed he can still catch his fellow countryman at LIV Dallas, despite the nine-shot deficit.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThere\u2019s no doubt it\u2019s possible. Look, this round could have been five or six-under pretty easily, it just didn\u2019t go my way. The wind is diabolical and I just don\u2019t have it under control, and it keeps kicking my butt. Even though I live here, I just cannot figure it out, so I\u2019ve got to do something about it and hopefully we\u2019ll have answers here soon, but I\u2019m working really hard. My team is doing pretty well, Paul played really well, super proud of him. This is a golf course right up his alley, as it is for all of us, this is just a diabolical golf course and I\u2019ve got to do better as a captain.\u201c<\/p>\n

DeChambeau has a history of overturning big deficits on LIV.<\/p>\n

At LIV Chicago in 2023, he came from eight shots back heading into the final round to win the tournament.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau still struggling with his irons at LIV Dallas<\/p>\n

The two-time US Open champion\u2019s distance control with his irons has been really poor during the first two rounds at Maridoe.<\/p>\n

That particular department of his game has let him down in the big events all season long, especially during the final round of The Masters and at the US Open, where he missed the cut.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau actually put new irons in his bag two weeks ago at LIV Virginia<\/a>, but they have failed to cooperate so far.<\/p>\n

He alluded to the wind being a factor on Saturday in Dallas, but he definitely hasn\u2019t been as sharp as he should be with his approach shots recently.<\/p>\n
