\n\tAnother day, another man blaming a woman for his own reckless behavior. *Sigh* In the latest edition of this misogynistic behavior, Nick Cannon<\/a> just put all the blame for his 12 kids on his ex-wife Mariah Carey<\/a> \u2014 and, yikes! It\u2019s not a good look for the Wild \u2018N Out star.<\/p>\n

\n\tCannon appeared on The Breakfast Club<\/a> on Monday morning, where he said that having 10 kids after his divorce from Carey, was a \u201ctrauma response,\u201d and we can\u2019t help but roll our eyes a little. (Half the population gets a divorce, dude. And you don\u2019t see them welcoming a dozen kids!)<\/p>\n

\n\tHaving all those kids was \u201ccareless\u201d and \u201cfrivolous,\u201d according to Cannon (and basically everyone else). \u201cI had the money. \u2026 I had the access to whoever and however I wanted to move,\u201d he shared, per Page Six<\/a>. \u201cThen, obviously, life happens as well. It wasn\u2019t like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m gonna go have 12 kids.\u2019 It was more about, like, \u2018Yo, I\u2019m just gonna live life and have fun and whatever happens, happens. I can handle it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf I had actually thought the process through a little bit more and taken time to actually do the inner work,\u201d Cannon said, then \u201cthings might have been a little different in certain scenarios.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf I would have did the work [and] the healing after getting divorced, I probably would have took my time in a lotta other scenarios,\u201d he explained. \u201cFor whatever reason, I thought that was the answer a lot of times, like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m gonna figure it out over here.\u2019 As opposed to like, yo, now, you\u2019re leaving trauma every step of the way instead of fixing it from its origin.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA clip of the interview was posted on Instagram, sparking backlash. \u201cI hate when people try to make ignorance sound deeper than it is\u2026.\u201d one person said.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnother commented, \u201c12 kids and 12 broken homes later he came to that revelation \ud83d\ude12.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis is ridiculous. People tried to warn him but he thought he could get away with 12 kids in different homes because he was successful and rich as if that\u2019s all it takes to raise a child,\u201d another wrote. \u201cNow he\u2019s trying to spin it and blame it all on trauma, GOH!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd him tryna get back at Mariah for leaving him basically and Mimi didn\u2019t bat an eye or break a nail she was like good riddens \ud83e\udd37\ud83c\udffd\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\ud83d\ude29\ud83d\udcaf\ud83d\udc69\ud83c\udffd\u200d\ud83d\udcbb,\u201d someone else pointed out.<\/p>\n

He also has kids Golden, 8, Powerful, 4, and Rise, 2, with Brittany Bell; twins Zion and Zillion, 4, and Beautiful, 2, with Abby De La Rosa; Onyx, 3, with Lanisha Cole; Legendary, 3, with Bre Tiesi; and Halo, 2, with Alyssa Scott. His son Zen with Scott tragically died in Dec. 2021.<\/p>\n

\n\tCannon and Carey were married in 2008 and split in 2016. In an interview on the Ray Daniels Presents<\/a> podcast in Oct. 2024, Cannon shared that he couldn\u2019t handle Carey\u2019s fame when they were together. \u201cI didn\u2019t actually really care what the world thought. But going to myself, that pressure of, \u2018Who am I?\u2019 I got married in my 20s to the biggest star in the world,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n

Am I Mariah\u2019s man? Is that what my life is supposed to be?\u2019\u201d He admitted that he appreciated her money, but he felt his \u201cmanship\u201d was threatened when he was \u201ccarrying a purse\u201d and \u201cthe diaper bag\u201d while she was making money like the rockstar she is.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m main character. I was getting mad at myself. It was like muscle atrophy. I had a gut. It was like, \u2018I\u2019m not being the dude God put me on this earth to be,\u2019\u201d he said, as if being a loving dad and supportive husband was something to be ashamed of or looked down upon.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn summary, Carey was too big of a star for Cannon to feel like a man while they were married (rolling my eyes), but their divorced traumatized him so much that he had to go and get five women pregnant with 10 more kids. This man wouldn\u2019t recognize accountability if it bit him in the butt.<\/p>\n
