A 95-year-old woman with dementia was arrested Tuesday two days after she\u00a0allegedly beat a fellow\u00a0Brooklyn\u00a0nursing home resident\u00a0<\/a>to death with a metal wheelchair piece.<\/p>\n

Galina Smirnova was cuffed Tuesday afternoon for allegedly\u00a0striking 89-year-old Holocaust survivor Nina Kravtsov<\/a>\u00a0multiple times in the head when a feud erupted just after 10 p.m. Sunday inside the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center\u00a0on Coney Island, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

Kravstov \u2013 found lying in bed with a bleeding head wound \u2013 was rushed to NYU Brooklyn Hospital, where she was initially listed in critical condition, cops and sources said.<\/p>\n

Nina Kravtsov, 89, a Holocaust survivor from Ukraine, was identified as the woman beaten to death inside the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Obtained by the NY Post<\/p>\n

She died from her injuries early Monday,\u00a0police\u00a0said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was devastated,\u201d\u00a0her\u00a0daughter Lucy Flom told The Post. \u201cMy friends are saying they can\u2019t believe it because it only happens in movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Flom said her mother was a Holocaust survivor who lived in Ukraine before moving to the US and settling down in Brighton Beach with her husband \u2014 always sacrificing for others.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was 5 years old when she was in the ghetto,\u201d the\u00a0heartbroken daughter said. \u201cShe had a big family. She lost most of her family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kravtsov was mortally injured when 95-year-old Galina Smirnova\u00a0allegedly beat her with a metal wheelchair piece just after 10 p.m. Sunday inside the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, cops and sources said. Kyle Mazza\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n

Kravtsov launched a nursing career in Ukraine, where \u201ceverybody loved her,\u201d and she was also a teen mom, Flom said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe sacrificed a lot. She was a single mom. She had me when she was 18,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cShe came here to give me a good education,\u201d she added. \u201cShe was a very dedicated mother.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a nice lady. She was like many moms \u2013 very loving, caring, devoted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Smirnova was taken to Coney Island Hospital for both a physical and psychiatric evaluation after the deadly clash at the nursing home, sources said. Desheania Andrews\/NY Post<\/p>\n

Flom said her mother later remarried and she gained a stepbrother and stepsister.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a mom to all of us,\u201d Flom said. \u201cWe are just grieving.\u201d<\/p>\n

Smirnova was taken to Coney Island Hospital for both a physical and psychiatric evaluation after the deadly clash, sources previously said.<\/p>\n

At the time of the incident, it was not clear if she would face charges since she is elderly and suffering from dementia, sources added.<\/p>\n
