<\/p>\n Broad daylight shooting on Lower East Side leaves 2 wounded, including innocent bystander<\/p>\n 01:42<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Two people were shot in broad daylight Tuesday on New York City’s Lower East Side.\u00a0<\/p>\n The gunfire erupted at 2:30 p.m. at East Broadway and Clinton Street, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n A 63-year-old woman, who police believe was an innocent bystander, was walking on the sidewalk when she was hit in the foot by a stray bullet. The woman was seen crying and sitting on the sidewalk as EMTs tried to help her.<\/p>\n A 21-year-old man, believed to be the intended target, was struck in the leg.<\/p>\n Both were rushed to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n Maureen Roberts, who lives nearby, said she had just arrived home when the shots rang out.<\/p>\n “I got into my apartment and heard four gunshots really loud,” Roberts said. “It’s kind of scary.”<\/p>\n Roberts said those living in the area are on edge.<\/p>\n “A little shook up, a little concerned. I keep hoping and wishing the neighborhood would change,” Roberts said.<\/p>\n Description of the suspects<\/p>\n Police are looking for two men wearing hoodies who took off from the scene. No weapon has been recovered, and so far there have been no arrests.
