Cities were then sorted into three categories: Large cities with populations greater than 500,000 residents; midsize cities with populations between 250,000-500,000 residents; and small cities with fewer than 250,000 residents.<\/p>\n<p>Austin soared to the No. 1 spot among the biggest U.S. cities in 2025 after ranking No. 5 in last year&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/austin.culturemap.com\/news\/innovation\/best-boomtowns-economic-growth-austin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Fort Worth slipped from the <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworth.culturemap.com\/news\/city-life\/best-boomtowns-economic-growth-no2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No. 2 spot in 2024<\/a> to No. 5 in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>According to CoworkingCafe, Fort Worth distinguished itself based on its 40 percent growth in exports and a 36 percent increase in the city&#8217;s GDP.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Fort Worth combines workforce development with trade expansion \u2014 a strategic mix for ongoing prosperity,&#8221; the report&#8217;s author wrote. &#8220;Furthermore, universities like Texas A&amp;M and TCU are expanding downtown campuses, adding research and innovation hubs that elevate the city\u2019s human capital.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth&#8217;s flourishing economy is further spurred by a 25 percent hike in residents&#8217; median income over the last five years, and a 58 percent increase in new business applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elsewhere in Dallas-Fort Worth<br \/><\/strong><strong>Dallas<\/strong> ranked farther behind Fort Worth as the 15th best large economic boomtown in the U.S. <\/p>\n<p>Three DFW suburbs &#8211;
