He was 49.<\/p>\n<p>The hitmaker, who went by the moniker \u201cOmen\u201d in the music industry, was discovered by a family member on Sept. 13, his mother Martha Brown confirmed to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2025\/09\/16\/drake-beyonce-producer-sidney-omen-brown-dead\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brown\u2019s \u201ccause and manner of death are pending further study,\u201d the city\u2019s Office of Chief Medical Examiner said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Grammy-winning producer Sidney Brown was found dead in his East Harlem apartment last week. Family Handout<\/p>\n<p>The hitmaker, who went by the moniker \u201cOmen\u201d in the music industry, was discovered by a family member on Sept. 13. @dinaregine\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>His loved ones went to check on him after employees raised the alarm when he didn\u2019t show up for his scheduled gig as a DJ at Barawine Harlem, where he worked for more than a decade, on W 120th St. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was holistic and healthy. So we don\u2019t know of him being sick, so this is all pretty sudden,\u201d his sister Nicole Iris Brown, 43, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/pop-culture\/pop-culture-news\/sidney-omen-brown-producer-worked-beyonce-drake-found-dead-new-york-ci-rcna231750\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">told NBC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-cb9f4c\">\u201cI hope people will remember that he was willing to help the younger generation. He was always big on helping younger people start their careers and get themselves into the game. It was about just the music, no matter who the artist was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-402325\">Brown\u2019s workplace wrote a heartfelt tribute to the producer following the sad news, writing, \u201cIt is with shock and deep sadness we have heard about the passing of our dear friend Omen Sidney Brown.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brown worked with Canadian rapper Drake, co-producing his track \u201cShut It Down\u201d from his debut 2010 album, \u201cThank Me Later.\u201d REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, he co-wrote and co-produced Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s song \u201cMine\u201d that features Drake from her self-titled album.
