{"id":233517,"date":"2025-09-17T09:45:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T09:45:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/233517\/"},"modified":"2025-09-17T09:45:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T09:45:15","slug":"china-set-for-bumper-golden-week-travel-rush-in-boost-for-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/233517\/","title":{"rendered":"China set for bumper \u2018golden week\u2019 travel rush in boost for economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">China is likely to see a bumper surge in travel bookings for the coming \u201cgolden week\u201d holiday \u2013 one of the country\u2019s most important travel periods of the year \u2013 providing a much-needed boost to consumer spending.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Early data from Chinese travel operators shows strong demand for both domestic and international trips over the eight-day public holiday beginning on October 1, which combines the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.<\/p>\n<p>The figures indicate that rail, flight and car rental bookings could rise compared with <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/economy\/economic-indicators\/article\/3281542\/china-golden-week-saw-spending-regain-its-shine-buoyed-confidence-boost?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">last year\u2019s golden week<\/a> as China\u2019s consumers increasingly prioritise spending on services and cultural experiences.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">China\u2019s railways are expected to handle some 219 million passenger trips over the 12 days from September 29 to October 10, the railway authority announced on Monday, when tickets for the first day of the travel period went on sale.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The network handled 177 million passenger trips over 10 days during last year\u2019s travel rush \u2013 including a record-high 21.4 million in a single day on October 1.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Searches for domestic flights were up 30 per cent year on year in early September, with ticket prices remaining on par with last year\u2019s levels, online travel agency Tongcheng said.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Travel platform Fliggy also reported year-on-year increases in bookings for flights, trains and car rentals.
