SAN ANTONIO – A man is in critical condition after being struck by a car while attempting to cross a busy highway on the Far East Side. <\/p>\n
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday along the access road of Interstate 10 West near Bicentennial Drive.<\/p>\n
Police said the man, who has not yet been identified, hesitated while crossing and was hit by a four-door sedan. The driver stopped and tried to help the pedestrian.<\/p>\n
The victim was rushed to the hospital. <\/p>\n
As officers worked to turn traffic around on the access road, an 18-wheeler backed into a parked police vehicle.
