{"id":233817,"date":"2025-09-17T12:36:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T12:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/233817\/"},"modified":"2025-09-17T12:36:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T12:36:09","slug":"san-diego-school-board-taking-stand-on-ballot-measure-is-appalling-san-diego-union-tribune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/233817\/","title":{"rendered":"San Diego school board taking stand on ballot measure is appalling \u2013 San Diego Union-Tribune"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am appalled that the board of the San Diego Unified School District, a tax-funded government agency, voted last week to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandiegounified.org\/about\/newscenter\/all_news\/resolution_state_congressional_redistricting#:~:text=SD%20Unified%20Officials%20Announce%20Resolution,students%20are%20paying%20the%20price.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">openly support<\/a> a political proposition (Proposition 50) on the ballot in November. Proposition 50 is an ill-advised political maneuver to supposedly counter a move to gerrymander congressional districts in Texas and do away with a voter-approved system for drawing political boundaries in California.<\/p>\n<p>This endorsement is totally inappropriate and SDUSD should suffer consequences, starting with the firing of board members. This is irresponsible political behavior on the part of a government agency that we fund to educate our children.<\/p>\n<p>What is the next step? Will San Diego Unified trustees be openly supporting political candidates in the future?
