{"id":23390,"date":"2025-06-29T02:36:08","date_gmt":"2025-06-29T02:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/23390\/"},"modified":"2025-06-29T02:36:08","modified_gmt":"2025-06-29T02:36:08","slug":"snapshots-pageau-grubauer-avalanche-dobson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/23390\/","title":{"rendered":"Snapshots: Pageau, Grubauer, Avalanche, Dobson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While there has been <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prohockeyrumors.com\/2025\/06\/multiple-teams-showing-interest-in-jean-gabriel-pageau.html\" rel=\"noopener\">strong trade interest<\/a> in Islanders center <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pageaje01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-06-28_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jean-Gabriel Pageau<\/a><\/strong>, it doesn\u2019t appear as if he\u2019s in play.\u00a0 Michael Russo and Joe Smith of The Athletic report (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6458000\/2025\/06\/28\/wild-nhl-draft-excruciating-boredom\/?source=emp_shared_article\" rel=\"noopener\">subscription link<\/a>) that the Isles have informed teams that they won\u2019t be moving the 32-year-old.\u00a0 The 32-year-old is coming off one of his better years offensively after tallying 42 points in 79 games while winning nearly 60% of his faceoffs.\u00a0 A capable checker, Pageau will be entering the final year of his contract next season on a deal that carries a $5MM cap charge.\u00a0 Given the lack of depth in the center market, New York likely would have been well-positioned to land a return of some value for Pageau\u2019s services but it appears now that they\u2019ll hold onto him and potentially reassess his situation closer to the trade deadline in March.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere around the NHL:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kraken GM Jason Botterill confirmed to reporters <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/sports\/kraken\/seattle-kraken-expected-to-retain-philipp-grubauer-despite-buyout-speculation\/?utm_source=RSS&amp;utm_medium=Referral&amp;utm_campaign=RSS_kraken\" rel=\"noopener\">including Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times<\/a> that the team will not be buying out goaltender <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/grubaph01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-06-28_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Philipp Grubauer<\/a><\/strong> by Monday\u2019s deadline. The 33-year-old had a rocky performance this season, posting a 3.49 GAA with a .875 SV% in 26 starts, resulting in a stint with AHL Coachella Valley after clearing waivers.\u00a0 Grubauer has two years left on his contract that carries a $5.9MM cap charge and while Seattle would have been able to open up nearly $4MM in room this summer with a buyout, Botterill instead will keep him around with the belief that he\u2019ll be able to bounce back next season.<\/li>\n<li>Avalanche pending unrestricted free agents <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/drouijo01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-06-28_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jonathan Drouin<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lindgry01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-06-28_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ryan Lindgren<\/a><\/strong> are expected to hit the open market next week, relays Peter Baugh of The Athletic (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6456832\/2025\/06\/27\/new-york-rangers-gavrikov-nhl-free-agency\/?source=emp_shared_article\" rel=\"noopener\">subscription link<\/a>). Drouin reached free agency last year as well before re-signing a one-year, $2.5MM deal.\u00a0 The winger put up 37 points in 45 games this season.\u00a0 Meanwhile, Lindgren was acquired at the trade deadline and put up 22 points in 72 games this year with the blueliner playing on a $4.5MM contract.\u00a0 After yesterday\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prohockeyrumors.com\/2025\/06\/blue-jackets-to-acquire-charlie-coyle-from-avalanche.html\" rel=\"noopener\">trade<\/a> of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/coylech01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-06-28_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Charlie Coyle<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/w\/woodmi01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-06-28_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Miles Wood<\/a><\/strong> to Columbus, the Avs have nearly $9MM in cap space, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/team\/colorado-avalanche\" rel=\"noopener\">per PuckPedia<\/a>, giving GM Chris McFarland more wiggle room to work with in reshaping his roster this summer.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/dobsono01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-06-28_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Noah Dobson<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s new contract with the Canadiens contains just a 14-team no-trade clause beginning in 2026-27, PuckPedia reports (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PuckPedia\/status\/1938751986008281574\">Twitter link<\/a>).
