Judge Kaplan\u2019s order should force action to protect against the worst conditions, and we must continue to fight against the worst abuses \u2013 the extralegal abductions of New Yorkers coming to court.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The truth is that the Trump administration has routinely defied laws and court orders. The city should attempt to use its inspection authority to ensure ICE is actually complying with the injunction. I have previously attempted to inspect the space, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/comptroller.nyc.gov\/reports\/letter-to-commissioner-oddo-and-commissioner-tucker-re-reports-of-unsafe-conditions-and-potential-building-violations\/?utm_source=NYC+Office+of+the+Public+Advocate&amp;utm_campaign=c8a13710a6-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2023_07_06_06_33_COPY_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_-55f353210c-\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>called on the city<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to do the same.
