{"id":234793,"date":"2025-09-17T21:45:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T21:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/234793\/"},"modified":"2025-09-17T21:45:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T21:45:18","slug":"valley-metro-light-rail-back-to-normal-3-days-after-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/234793\/","title":{"rendered":"Valley Metro light rail back to normal 3 days after crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX\t\u2014 The Valley Metro light rail line east of downtown Phoenix is fully operational again three days after a fiery crash disrupted the system, officials said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The westbound A Line along Washington Street had been closed between 12th and 24th streets since <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-news\/light-rail-semi-truck-fire\/5750271\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sunday night\u2019s destructive wreck<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While the segment was being repaired, westbound Valley Metro light rail trains shared the track with eastbound trains along Jefferson Street. The track sharing <a href=\"http:\/\/x.com\/valleymetro\/status\/1967943261789753352\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">caused delays<\/a>, prompting the transportation agency to deploy shuttle buses to help carry westbound passengers through the impacted area.<\/p>\n<p>How did crash disrupt Valley Metro light rail system?<\/p>\n<p>Valley Metro crews and partners worked across all hours to fully restore service after a semi-truck and a westbound train collided at 18th and Washington streets around 7:20 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The crash ignited a fire and caused major damage to the truck, the train and the overhead electrification system.<\/p>\n<p>The truck driver was hospitalized in stable condition after the collision.
