The decision over Jonathan Kuminga\u2019s future will have a profound impact on the Warriors moving forward, and a standstill has stalled much of the team\u2019s offseason moves. And with less than two weeks before training camp, one of the squad\u2019s top players would like some answers \u2014 one way or another.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jimmy Butler reached out to Warriors brass in an effort to expedite the team\u2019s contract stalemate with Kuminga, a restricted free agent, according to NBC Sports Bay Area<\/a> reporter Dalton Johnson.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI can confidently say that Jimmy Butler has also reached out to the team and been like, \u2018What\u2019s going on here? I just want to know the plan,\u2019\u201d Johnson revealed Tuesday on his \u201cDubs Talk\u201d podcast<\/a>, adding that Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are also \u201cin the loop.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Butler and Green have also checked in with Kuminga directly, ESPN reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to ESPN, the bulk of the drama centers on a third year. Kuminga, 22, reportedly wants a player option, while the Warriors are offering around $75 million for three years with a team option or $54 million with no option.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kuminga, 24, averaged 15.3 points and 4.6 rebounds across 47 games (10 starts) last season. If the parties are unable to reach an agreement by Oct. 1, Kuminga will take the $7.9 million qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Golden State acquired Butler<\/a> from the Heat in a February trade, ending the six-time All-Star\u2019s own toxic relationship with the front office in South Beach \u2014 part of which surrounded a lingering contract dispute.<\/p>\n

The Warriors swiftly offered Butler a lucrative, two-year extension to lock him up. Now, it\u2019ll remain to be seen if they can do the same for Kuminga.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Jimmy, as someone who came on last year and kind of showed, \u2018All right, you took care of me, all the drama\u2019s done, all the Miami stuff, it\u2019s just basketball for me. I\u2019m all about basketball,\u201d Johnson added. \u201cWhen I\u2019m on the contract for you, it\u2019s about basketball.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now I think he\u2019s saying, \u2018Hey, show me that it\u2019s all about basketball. We have two weeks until training camp. So either just pay [Kuminga] or move him.
