Police say they called in a helicopter and K-9 units but were unable to find the suspect after he hopped some tall fences during the chase.<\/p>\n
SAN ANTONIO \u2014 The San Antonio Police Department says they’re still looking for the suspect who caused Marshall High School to be placed under a secure status.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday afternoon, Marshall High School was under a secure status due to a disturbance in the area, but not associated with the school.<\/p>\n
The difference between being placed under a “secure status” and a “lockdown” is that all exterior doors are secured and outdoor activities are brought inside as the threat is considered to be outside of the school. A lockdown refers more to when the threat is already inside the building.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Patrol officers were allegedly able to locate the suspect at a nearby Circle K before he led the officers on a chase.<\/p>\n
For reinforcements, officers called in extra K-9 units and a helicopter to sweep the area. But after SAPD said the suspect hopped some “tall fences,” they lost him.<\/p>\n
SAPD says they still have a a quadrant set up as they continue to search the area for him. Officials added the suspect wasn’t a threat to anyone and it was, “nothing violent. Pretty business as usual.”<\/p>\n
Authorities also said they do not believe the suspect is armed.<\/p>\n
