Angel Reese showed off her rebounding title and vacation photos on Instagram, closing out what was a turbulent season for the Chicago Sky star<\/p>\n

Angel Reese<\/a> caught attention this week not just for her on-court dominance, but for how she celebrated it off the court. The spotlight is nothing new for Reese, as she showed off a private jet hours after Chicago’s season finale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Chicago Sky<\/a> forward posted a photo of the 2025 WNBA Rebounding Leader trophy on Instagram, simply captioned \u201c& GOD.\u201d Shortly after her trophy post, Reese shared images of herself aboard a boat in a blue swimsuit, captioned: \u201clet me put you in some pucci & take you out the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reese\u2019s award didn\u2019t come out of nowhere. Despite trade rumors swirling around her to end the season<\/a>, she produced a breakout second season in the WNBA, averaging 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She led the league in rebounding for the second straight year.<\/a><\/p>\n

Her all-around game also improved: while her scoring uptick was modest, she became a more integral playmaker. In June, Reese recorded her first career triple-double: 11 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks.<\/p>\n

Despite her statistical excellence, Reese\u2019s season ended on a bit of a sour note. She was sidelined for the final two games due to a back injury, which coincided with a half-game suspension after she publicly criticized the Sky organization.<\/a><\/p>\n

The team finished 10\u201334, tying for the worst record in the league.<\/p>\n

Reese insisted: \u201cWe have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me \u2026 if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not settling for the same s— we did this year. We have to get good players.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reese also leveled a controversial comment about veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot, who sat out much of 2025 recovering from a torn ACL.<\/p>\n

In her remarks, Reese said: \u201cWe can\u2019t rely on Courtney to come back at the age that she\u2019s at. I know she\u2019ll be a great asset for us, but we can\u2019t rely on that. We need someone probably a little younger with some experience, somebody who\u2019s been playing the game and is willing to compete for a championship and has done it before.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response, Vandersloot pushed back. She said: \u201cContrary to what people say or think, my age is absolutely not a factor. I am coming back. I\u2019m gonna come back better than ever because that\u2019s what I\u2019ve done. I\u2019ve put myself in the position to come back and compete at this age.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reese later apologized to teammates, saying she didn\u2019t \u201cmean to put down my teammates.\u201d Meanwhile, Sky GM Jeff Pagliocca expressed confidence she would remain with the franchise, saying \u201cuntil I hear differently, that\u2019s the direction we\u2019re going to move \u2014 that she\u2019s on the roster.\u201d<\/p>\n
