Chicago’s Leo High School Choir made it through to the finale of America’s Got Talent. <\/p>\n
Hailing from Leo High School, an all-boys Catholic school on Chicago’s South Side, the choir held up hand symbols in the shape of the letter “L” as they waited for the results to be read Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
“I feel alive right now,” one of the choir members said after AGT host Terry Crews announced they were the last act to make it through to the final round of the show.<\/p>\n
Final performances will air 7 p.m. CT Tuesday, Sept. 23, and the winner will be announced the following evening, Wednesday, Sept. 24, on NBC.<\/p>\n
The choir’s cover of “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy Tuesday <\/a>garnered them enough votes from the public to make it through to the finale.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n “Seeing the guys growing through this experience has been amazing,” choir director Miss Hill said after their performance Tuesday<\/a>. “This is a special group of guys.”<\/p>\n Miss Hill has been by the choir’s side throughout their entire America’s Got Talent experience, since their audition<\/a>.<\/p>\n “I’m absolutely thrilled,” said judge Simon Cowell, who gave the boys a rare standing ovation<\/a> their quarterfinal performance of “Believer” by Imagine Dragons<\/a>. “So, so deserve this.”<\/p>\n After their semifinal’s performance, choir member Keith \u201cKash\u201d Smith said making it to the finale would “mean the world” to them.<\/p>\n “We got so many people in Chicago, all over America voting for us, cheering for us, we just want to make everbody proud,” Smith said. <\/p>\n The choir sent NBC Chicago a special message ahead of their performance in the semifinals. <\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLeo High School Choir sent a special message to NBC5 Chicago, calling viewers to tune in Tuesday night and vote as they take the stage on \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Choir members said they will use the prize money for college tuition if they win.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Chicago’s Leo High School Choir made it through to the finale of America’s Got Talent.
