Jimmy Kimmel is reportedly \u201cabsolutely f\u2013king livid\u201d over\u00a0ABC\u2019s decision to axe his late-night night show<\/a>\u00a0following backlash to his remarks about Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination \u2013 while President Trump cheered the move as \u201cgreat news for America.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The comedian, 57, was left fuming over the network\u2019s Wednesday decision to suspend him and pull \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d off the air \u201cindefinitely\u201d after he unleashed a hateful tirade against the gunned down conservative activist during Monday night\u2019s monologue,\u00a0sources and producers<\/a>\u00a0told the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

In a Truth Social post, Trump cheered ABC\u2019s decision to pull Kimmel\u2019s show, calling it \u201cgreat news for America.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsolutely f\u2013king livid,\u201d one producer told the outlet about how Kimmel took the news, adding that the \u201cpissed\u201d late-night host is currently meeting with the network.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is clearly the government overreaching. There\u2019s no such thing as free speech in America, if the government can lean on companies to stop any content they don\u2019t like.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sources told the outlet that the network\u2019s decision is the \u201clast straw\u201d for Kimmel, who is now\u00a0 \u201cactively looking\u201d to break out of his contract and end his relationship with ABC.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cJimmy is pissed over the decision to suspend him and the show and he isn\u2019t going to take this lightly, as he is actively looking for ways to get out of his contract,\u201d the source said, with another insisting they\u2019ve \u201cnever seen Kimmel this angry.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kimmel came under fire when he said the \u201cMAGA gang\u201d was trying to\u00a0score political points off Kirk\u2019s public and savage execution<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The decision was announced on Wednesday after Kimmel\u2019s inappropriate comments Monday on \u201cLive!\u201d about Charlie Kirk\u2019s alleged shooter. AP<\/p>\n

The right-wing influencer was\u00a0shot dead with a single bullet to the neck<\/a>\u00a0while speaking with thousands during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University in Orem last Wednesday. Tyler Robinson, 22, has since been arrested and charged for the vicious slaying.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,\u201d Kimmel said during his monologue.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Nexstar Media Group, the major broadcast company that serves as a primary affiliate for ABC, confirmed that it would \u201cpreempt\u201d Kimmel\u2019s program in the wake of his remarks.<\/p>\n

President Trump appeared to dance on Kimmel\u2019s late-night grave shortly after the news broke.<\/p>\n

Kimmel is now the second late-night host and comedian to have his show killed following political controversy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In July, CBS announced that Stephen Colbert\u2019s \u201cThe Late Show\u201d would be\u00a0ending in May 2026 after its next season<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 another move celebrated by the commander in chief.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey both don\u2019t want Trump to win in any way or fashion at all, and this has lit an extreme fire under Jimmy\u2019s ass to continue to tell it like it is and be real to himself,\u201d another source told the Daily Mail, adding that Colbert is now looking to have Kimmel on his liberal-leaning show this week.<\/p>\n

FCC chairman Brendan Carr called Wednesday\u2019s move \u201cunprecedented\u201d and told Hannity that it\u2019s a \u201cturning point\u201d in media.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow they both are in the same predicament with being against the Trump administration, and they are now looking to do something together to fight for what they believe in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shortly after Kirk \u2013 a 31-year-old married father of two and close Trump ally \u2013 was killed, Kimmel took to social media to offer condolences to his family and to all victims of gun violence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But after Monday\u2019s blunder, the FCC chairman says the only reasonable step for the ABC, parent company Disney, and the Emmy-nominated host is to issue a public apology \u2013 noting that the network\u2019s \u201cunprecedented\u201d rejection of Kimmel by broadcasters is \u201can important turning point\u201d in the media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis action today by NexStar and Sinclair, frankly, it\u2019s unprecedented,\u201d Brendan Carr told Fox News host Sean Hannity Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t imagine another time when we\u2019ve had local broadcasters tell a national programmer like Disney that your content no longer meets the needs and the values of our community. So this is an important turning point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carr blasted late-night shows for becoming \u201ccourt clerics\u201d who enforce \u201cvery narrow political ideology.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s more work to go, but I\u2019m very glad to see that American broadcasters are standing up to serve the interests of their community, and we don\u2019t just have this progressive foie gras coming out from New York and Hollywood,\u201d Carr pressed on \u201cHannity.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d has been a staple for ABC since it began airing in 2004.<\/p>\n
