Florian Wirtz<\/a> earned lots of praise for what many fans thought was his \u201cbest\u201d Liverpool outing yet, as the Reds beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 at Anfield.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds started their Champions League<\/a> campaign with the visit of Diego Simeone\u2019s side, and a last-gasp winner was again the order of the day. <\/p>\n

Alexander Isak<\/a> showed flashes of quality on his Liverpool debut, but it was the club\u2019s second-most expensive signing who caught the eye more.<\/p>\n

These Liverpool fans reacted to Wirtz\u2019s excellent display on social media and in This Is Anfield\u2018s comments section.<\/p>\n

Wirtz has made a solid start to life at Liverpool rather than a spectacular one, and this was his standout performance to date.<\/p>\n

The German looked a class act in tight spaces and created more chances (five) than any other player, linking neatly with Isak, too.<\/p>\n

There are further gears for Wirtz to find, but this felt like a big step in the right direction.<\/p>\n

Next up for Wirtz is Everton<\/a> at Anfield, in what is a great chance for the 22-year-old to make a big impact on his first Merseyside derby appearance.<\/p>\n
