JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A local nurse is no longer employed following antisemitic posts on social media.<\/p>\n
And this is just one of the many people who have lost their jobs in our area after making controversial posts. <\/p>\n
Action News Jax has reported all week about comments related to the murder of Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n
>>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <\/b><\/a><\/p>\n And now we learned that a nurse at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital praised Adolf Hitler and made other disturbing posts.<\/p>\n The nurse\u2019s family members asked us not to use his name, as he is in a fragile mental state.<\/p>\n One of the posts dated Sep. 7th, said \u201cnuke Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n Then, in another post, the nurse blames Jewish people for the loan on his truck. <\/p>\n And a third post reads \u201ctoo bad Hitler couldn\u2019t get it done.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt is tragic and it\u2019s sad,\u201d said Rabbi Shmuli Novack, the director at Chabad Jacksonville, Town Center, and UNF. \u201cAnd certainly in the medical profession, we expect a lot more.\u201d<\/p>\n The hospital fired the nurse after posts came to light, telling us: \u201cThe views expressed in this particular social media post are in opposition to our organization\u2019s mission to care for and improve human life, and conflict with the core values of our hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n [DOWNLOAD: <\/b>Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/b><\/a>]<\/b><\/p>\n Rabbi Novack said it\u2019s a problem local Jewish people shouldn\u2019t have to worry about when they go to the hospital. <\/p>\n \u201cA person who is in the medical profession, a nurse, where there is a foundational value of compassion, kindness, and care,\u201d said Rabbi Novack.<\/p>\n He said that as the Jewish community responds to antisemitism, they will continue to lean on each other.
