Unfortunately for Michigan, one of its highest regarded commitments in the 2026 class has taken two straight trips to a different school.<\/p>\n<p>SEC school trying to flip four-star Michigan commit<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/julian-walker-46154112\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Julian Walker;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Julian Walker<\/a>, an edge rusher rated just outside the Top-100 on the 247Sports composite, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maizenbrew.com\/2025\/7\/1\/24459059\/michigan-football-recruiting-julian-walker-commits-south-carolina-lou-esposito-sherrone-moore\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:been committed to Michigan since July 1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">been committed to Michigan since July 1<\/a>, but that hasn\u2019t stopped a particular school from pursuing him. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/news\/michigan-commit-julian-walker-talks-south-carolina-visit-looks-forward-to-ann-arbor-return\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Rivals\u2019 Steve Wiltfong ($);elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Rivals\u2019 Steve Wiltfong ($)<\/a>, Walker was back at South Carolina for his second straight visit this past weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cIt was a good second visit,\u201d Walker, a native of Irmo, South Carolina, said. \u201cBeing able to see the guys go out and play ball was great. It definitely felt like a big-game environment, and the atmosphere was elite.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Walker said he was comfortable at South Carolina and that he had a good meeting with South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer. Good news for Michigan fans, though \u2014 Walker will be back in Ann Arbor for the Wisconsin game on Oct. 4.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThe Michigan trip is a big one because this will be the first time my mother gets there,\u201d Walker said. \u201cShe didn\u2019t make it to my official this summer because of planning issues. So basically this is the first time she\u2019s laying eyes on them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">With his dad on the strength and conditioning staff at South Carolina, it makes sense for him to hear the Gamecocks out prior to him signing. His upcoming trip to Ann Arbor will be crucial in re-affirming Walker\u2019s commitment to Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>In-state WR set to visit Michigan twice this fall<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Owning your home state should always be a priority on the trail, and Michigan has been pursuing one elite pass catcher in the state of Michigan for a while now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Dakota Guerrant, a wide receiver from Harper Woods, ranks 41st overall in the 2027 class <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/dakota-guerrant-46142083\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:on the composite;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">on the composite<\/a>. He was in Ann Arbor for last year\u2019s season-opener against Fresno State. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maizenbrew.com\/2025\/5\/23\/24433743\/michigan-football-recruiting-shadarius-toodle-traeviss-stevenson-jordan-deck-carsyn-baker\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:He also said in the spring;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">He also said in the spring<\/a> he wants to see more offensive firepower from the team this season, and quarterback Bryce Underwood has delivered that so far.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Dakota\u2019s father, Gerald, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/michigan-wolverines\/news\/intel-elite-in-state-wr-dakota-guerrant-schedules-2-trips-to-michigan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:confirmed to The Wolverine\u2019s Ethan McDowell ($);elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">confirmed to The Wolverine\u2019s Ethan McDowell ($)<\/a> that Guerrant will be in Ann Arbor twice this fall. He will be in Ann Arbor for both the Purdue game (Nov. 1) and the Ohio State game (Nov. 29). McDowell also reported that, based on his current schedule, Michigan is the only school that plans to host Guerrant for more than one game day visit.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Dakota does have a Michigan connection \u2014 his Godbrother, Jacob Oden, is a second-year defensive back for the Wolverines. It sounds like Michigan may have the edge over Miami (set to visit on Sept. 20), Penn State (Sept. 27), UNC (Oct. 4), Texas A&amp;M (Oct. 11) and Oregon (Oct. 25) at the moment, but other programs like Ohio State also poise a major challenge.<\/p>\n<p>2028 QB reflects on Michigan offer<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Bryce Underwood\u2019s performance in this past Saturday\u2019s 63-3 win over Central Michigan would have any quarterback recruit salivating, and one young passer certainly took notice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ayden Edwards, a 2028 quarterback who is not yet ranked grew up a Michigan fan and told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/news\/michigan-makes-move-for-2028-quarterback-ayden-edwards\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Rivals\u2019 Adam Gorney ($);elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Rivals\u2019 Adam Gorney ($)<\/a> he loved what he saw from Underwood and the Wolverines throwing the ball more.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cIt was awesome to definitely see Michigan and how they jelled as an offense and how they\u2019re airing it out this year and not running it as much,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cThey\u2019re relying on Bryce a lot, and I like that, just trusting in their quarterback and trusting in who they\u2019re going to go to with their receivers and everybody being on the same page so it was good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Not only did he get to see a good game, but he also left Ann Arbor with a scholarship offer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cI wasn\u2019t really expecting it, but if it did come, I was definitely going to be grateful and happy for it,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cIt\u2019s a huge accomplishment for me. Growing up, I always watched Michigan football, so it\u2019s definitely a big accomplishment and I\u2019m very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As is often the case with talented young passers, Michigan isn\u2019t the only school getting in early. Oregon, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Washington and Arizona State are among the schools interested in Edwards.
