A Bronx woman<\/a> was viciously stabbed to death inside her car while her\u00a0boyfriend apparently relieved himself on the side of a desolate road Wednesday night \u2014 but her family thinks there may be more to the story.<\/p>\n

Anthonella Contreras Linarez, 30, and her 44-year-old beau were on their way to\u00a0dinner on City Island\u00a0around 8:10 p.m. when the couple pulled over just outside Rodman\u2019s Neck\u00a0\u2014\u00a0allegedly because the husband had to urinate, law enforcement sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her\u00a0boyfriend told cops two men pulled up on a moped while he was doing his business, tried to rob Contreras Linarez and stabbed her multiple times<\/a> when she resisted before fleeing.<\/p>\n

Her significant other told police that he rushed back to the car and tried to stop the thugs, only to be slashed while trying to play hero, sources said \u2014 a story the victim\u2019s family is struggling with.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only question I have for him is, what happened?\u201d the slain woman\u2019s brother, Mayker Contreras, told The Post Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d like to know what happened. We want the truth of what happened,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ll tell you the truth, I don\u2019t trust what he says.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sources said Contreras Linarez and her beau of three years were on their way to meet a friend on City Island when the horror unfolded \u2014 leaving her mortally wounded with multiple stab injuries to her face, neck and body, sources said.<\/p>\n

The injured husband said he got back behind the wheel and drove to Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle, where Contreras Linarez succumbed to her injuries, cops and sources said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Her husband was listed in stable condition and has since been released from the hospital\u00a0\u2014 and is now being questioned by cops.<\/p>\n

\u201cDevastated,\u201d Contreras Linarez\u2019s heartbroken dad, Marcos Contreras, said of the incident. \u201cPolice are investigating, so I can\u2019t say it wasn\u2019t that way. I have to wait until the police investigate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is always doubt,\u201d the grieving father added.<\/p>\n

The family is originally from the Dominican Republic, and has been in New York for about 11 years, they said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Photos released by the family show Contreras Linares celebrating her graduation from Manhattanville College in Westchester County, and her boyfriend widely smiling.<\/p>\n

Now, Mayker Contreras said his sister\u2019s death has destroyed the tight-knit family \u2014 and left them questioning her death.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy, if you were with her, how did you let this happen?\u201d he said. \u201cBecause if you have a wife or a daughter, and if your wife is in danger, you give your life for your wife.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re devastated,\u201d he added. \u201cThe light of your happiness \u2014 everything that has represented joy in your family, in your home \u2014 it\u2019s gone. The glue that kept us together it was her.\u201d<\/p>\n
