While anyone is welcome to call the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden by its full and proper name, many regulars refer to it as “the Arboretum,” a sweet and simple shorthand for an expansive place.<\/p>\n
But some of the garden’s fans might be inclined to call it by its other name, or at least a special handle it assumes a couple of times each year: The Arf-oretum.<\/p>\n
We are, of course, talking about our canine friends, and the fact that Fidos can call upon the leafy Arcadia-based destination every now and then, when a special event is afoot.<\/p>\n
Or four-foot, rather. And such an event is trotting into view Oct. 4, when Barks & Boos<\/a> returns to The Arf-oretum for a dogly day of cute costumes, easy strolling, and a dog costume contest.<\/p>\n Presented by fera pets, the annual fall event will include a visit from Pasadena Humane, which means that, yes, adoptable cuties will be in the house (or in the garden, we do mean).<\/p>\n Mt. Lowe Brewing Company will be there, and food trucks, too, and an agility course if your pooch wants to give it a go.<\/p>\n Humans will need to purchase admission to enter the LA Arboretum and your pup? The entry fee for a dog is $10.<\/p>\n
