(Video: Bill Melugin\/X)<\/p>\n<p>NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!\n  <\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">New York City Comptroller <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/doj-silent-whether-nyc-politician-who-allegedly-assaulted-ice-officer-face-charges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brad Lander <\/a>and several other lawmakers and protesters staged a sit-in on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza on September 18, 2025, sources confirmed to Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">The group reportedly attempted to force their way into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices and holding cells, demanding access to the facility.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ICE sources claim officers had to secure doors with locks and zip ties after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/democrats-attempting-visit-brooklyn-ice-facility-reportedly-trapped-after-being-rebuffed-agents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">protesters pushed to enter<\/a>, with additional security now posted on the floor.<\/p>\n<p>According to ICE officials, several &#8220;egregious criminal aliens&#8221; are currently being held in the cells at the site.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6375110307112\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>TRUMP DOJ SUES LOS ANGELES OVER SANCTUARY CITY POLICIES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a separate protest unfolded outside the building, where activists blocked ICE vans from leaving the facility.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Protesters have been surrounding the vans, while chants echoed across the plaza.<\/p>\n<p>Brad Lander himself posted about the demonstration on social media, tagging the Democratic Socialists of America in a message of solidarity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a developing story.<\/p>\n<p>Emma Bussey is a breaking news writer for Fox News Digital.
