PHOENIX \u2014 A modular housing company recently completed a 19-unit apartment complex made of recycled shipping containers in east Phoenix, according to a Thursday press release.<\/p>\n

Tudo Capital constructed the one- and two-bedroom units out of 45 shipping containers, and the complex called \u201cStacks on Polk<\/a>\u201d is located off the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway near 53rd and Polk streets.<\/p>\n

Units\u2019 rental pricing starts at $1,250 per month.<\/p>\n

Evan Glickman, founder of Tudo Capital<\/a>, said the company was able to save around 30% on construction costs by using lower labor costs at its factory in Hermosillo, Mexico.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur mission is to reduce the cost of housing production,\u201d Glickman said in the release. \u201cBy utilizing recycled materials, new code paths and using lower cost labor in our Mexico facility, we are able to significantly cut project costs compared to site-built projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

Families in Glendale have similarly been able to move into homes made of recycled materials at Legacy Village<\/a>, which is located near 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.<\/p>\n
