{"id":238367,"date":"2025-09-19T07:21:26","date_gmt":"2025-09-19T07:21:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/238367\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T07:21:26","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T07:21:26","slug":"amed-rosario-keeps-proving-yankees-value-with-all-around-showing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/238367\/","title":{"rendered":"Amed Rosario keeps proving Yankees value with all-around showing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BALTIMORE \u2014 There was a time when plenty of people believed Amed Rosario would blossom into a star in New York.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But those early expectations for Rosario, who made his debut with the Mets in 2017 when he was just 21, were never realized before he was traded to Cleveland in the deal that landed Francisco Lindor in Queens.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, he has a chance to make a different kind of impact across town with the Yankees, and he\u2019s not letting it go to waste.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The infielder was integral in another Yankee win Thursday night, getting the start at second base against Baltimore lefty Cade Povich and coming through with a two-run double with two outs in the top of the first to spark a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/18\/sports\/max-fried-has-best-start-of-season-as-yankees-drub-orioles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">7-0 win over the Orioles.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/26\/sports\/yankees-acquire-amed-rosario-from-nationals-to-add-more-depth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired Rosario from Washington<\/a> prior to the trade deadline for his veteran presence, ability to play multiple infield positions and hit left-handers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 13 games since joining the Yankees, Rosario is 10-for-25 with four extra-base hits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the season, he entered Thursday with an .859 OPS against lefties.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And while he isn\u2019t playing every day, Rosario \u2014 now 29 \u2014 is happy with what he\u2019s been able to do as a Yankee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI prepare the same way I used to when I played every day,\u2019\u2019 Rosario said through an interpreter. \u201cIt\u2019s been something over the years where I\u2019ve gotten experience being in this position and have been able to come through.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37154088\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/amed-rosario-14-new-york-111690188.jpg\" alt=\"Amed Rosario hits a two-run double during the Yankees-Orioles game on Sept. 18, 2025.\" class=\"wp-image-37154088\"  \/>Amed Rosario hits a two-run double during the Yankees\u2019 7-0 blowout win over the Orioles on Sept. 18, 2025. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees value Rosario\u2019s defensive versatility and his effectiveness at the plate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe prepares really well,\u2019\u2019 manager Aaron Boone said. \u201cHe\u2019s a pro. I love the energy he brings to the field. He has a veteran presence. He\u2019s been a starter in this league and morphed into a lefty killer who bounces around [on defense].\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And Rosario is enjoying this second chance of success in New York.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very satisfying to be in this position,\u2019\u2019 Rosario said. \u201cI know how fans want teams in New York to win. AP<\/p>\n<p>Asked if it was disappointing to have not developed into the player some had believed he could be with the Mets, Rosario said he didn\u2019t think much about it \u2014 then or now.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t hard to deal with what everyone thought about me because early on, I was able to separate the level of expectations with the play on the field,\u201d he said. \u201cI was able to hit a switch and eliminate the noise and not have that impact the game on the field.
