Vequis suggested that creating a critical mass of young professionals could attract employers and increase wages. “If we create the critical mass of young professionals…then what will happen is, then the employers will come here and be wanting to open up facilities, and wages will go up,” he said.

News 4 San Antonio reached out to the city’s Human Services Department for potential solutions but did not receive a response.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio has the third-highest poverty rate among metropolitan areas in the United States, according…

[5133
5229,31647,35989,7202,7203,100663,358,5331,3187,57209,67,586,132,5230,68,2969,14417,127748
0":"post-238470","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-san-antonio","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-gdp","10":"tag-poverty-rate","11":"tag-san-antonio","12":"tag-sanantonio","13":"tag-skilled-workers","14":"tag-texas","15":"tag-tourism","16":"tag-tx","17":"tag-u-s-census-bureau","18":"tag-united-states","19":"tag-united-states-of-america","20":"tag-unitedstates","21":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","22":"tag-us","23":"tag-usa","24":"tag-wages","25":"tag-young-professionals
["GET
