\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>L\u00e9a Seydoux<\/a> is set to star in Marie Kreutzer<\/a>\u2019s upcoming drama Gentle Monster<\/a> alongside Jella Haase, Laurence Rupp and Catherine Deneuve<\/a>, with the cast unveiled as the production gears up for principal photography.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe production marks Kreutzer\u2019s first feature\u00a0since her critically acclaimed 2022 historical drama\u00a0Corsage, starring Vicky Krieps as the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as Sissi. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tSeydoux will lead the cast in the role of a renowned pianist who, after relocating with her family to the countryside, uncovers a life-shattering truth that forces her to confront the complexities of love, trust, and deception.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is lead produced by Alexander Gehr and Johanna Scherz at Vienna-based Film AG, in coproduction with Germany\u2019s Komplizen Film and France<\/a>\u2018s Kazak Production.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt marks the first collaboration between Kreutzer and Seydoux. The French actress was in Venice in September with Hungarian director Ildik\u00f3 Enyedi\u2019s ensemble drama Silent Friend, which world premiered in competition winning a slew of collateral prizes.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther recent credits include Dune: Part Two and Second Act, while she will next be seen in David and Nathan Zellner\u2019s sci-fi comedy Alpha Gang, alongside Cate Blanchett, David Bautista, Steven Yeun, Zo\u00eb Kravitz, Riley Keough and Channing Tatum.<\/p>\n

\n\tGerman actress Haase is coming off an award-winning performance in hit comedy Chantal in Fairyland, while Austrian actor Rupp\u2019s recent feature credits include Veni Vidi Vici. French star Deneuve was seen recently in Spirit World and Marcello Mio.<\/p>\n

\n\tGentle Monster was one of ten projects selected for the Investors Circle<\/a> at this year\u2019s Cannes Film Market where it was awarded the initiative\u2019s main ArteKino International Prize.<\/p>\n

\n\tParis-based sales agent, producer, and financier mk2 Films<\/a> is handling international sales with the film joining titles such as It Was Just an Accident, Sound of Falling, The Secret Agent Filho on its current slate<\/p>\n

\n\tThe company is also backing the film as its first investment <\/a>under a multi-year slate financing deal with international fund manager IPR.VC.<\/p>\n
