With playoff soccer likely out of reach for a second straight season, New England made the decision to part ways with head coach Caleb Porter earlier this week.

Saturday’s fixture will be Pablo Moreira’s first match as interim head coach, as he leads the Revs through the final four games of the season. The last time Moreira took over for Porter, during a one-game suspension last season, New England found a winning result over Nashville SC.

Philadelphia Union
1st in Eastern Conference (17-7-6, 57 pts.)
Last Result | 7-0 loss at Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Philadelphia currently lead the Supporters’ Shield standings and have already secured their spot in the playoffs. They’ve been strong on both the attack and defense, boasting the largest goal differential in the Eastern Conference (16), along with the fewest goals against (33).

The Union have been formidable all season long, especially at home, where they have only lost a single game in 2025. As the Revolution head to Subaru Park, they’ll face a Philadelphia side coming off a brutal 7-0 regular season loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps. Although the Union’s postseason ticket is sealed, there may be extra motivation to make up for their latest league result and their midweek exit from the U.S. Open Cup.

      KEY PLAYERS

Revolution defender Tanner Beason
With Mamadou Fofana suspended from Saturday’s match due to yellow card accumulation, Tanner Beason could come in for a big showing on the Revolution back line. Beason has started 18 of his 23 appearances for the Revolution this year, and in that time has been a strong defensive presence.

Beason has made an impressive 27 clearances and logged his first MLS assist. As Philadelphia have been a dominant attacking presence with 49 goals so far this season, Beason could be an important player as the Revs aim to find three points.

Union defender Kai Wagner
Not only has Wagner helped the Philadelphia defense earn 11 clean sheets so far this season, but he has also been active on the attack. The left back is currently the second-highest goal contributor for the Union with two goals and 10 assists on his 2025 tally. His 12 overall contributions make him only the third player in Philadelphia’s history to notch 70 or more goal contributions.

      HEAR FROM THE REVS

Interim head coach Pablo Moreira on his objectives for the final four games of the regular season:
“I think [Sporting Director] Curt [Onalfo] had mentioned it in his press conference, just in terms of ending the last four games on the right foot. What does that mean? For me, it means getting the most out of the team. Almost just releasing the chains, letting them be free, play within the system that we’re creating, but also, not be afraid to make mistakes. I just want to give them the ability to have that vibe, and kind of see where they go from it. But definitely, there are high-character individuals in that locker room. I know mathematically we’re not out of it. Obviously, it looks bleak, but I know every player in that locker room is looking to win these last four games. To get back to your question, how do we do that? I think it’s multifaceted, but just playing free, playing aggressive. At this point, we have nothing to lose, and we really want to show the fans, show you guys, show everyone that that locker room is capable. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the results and we’re in this position that we are. We know that, we own it, and we’re going to correct it.”

Revolution captain Carles Gil on how the team has prepared for the Philadelphia Union on Saturday:
“We know Philly. Even [though] they changed their coach in the beginning of the season, they are a similar team. They will fight, they try to win duels around the pitch, and it’s always difficult to go there. But, like you said, they are coming from difficult moments, even though they are still in a good position obviously. Maybe they will be tired too with traveling. We will go there, try to make a good game. Like I said, it will be difficult, but we will try to get the three points.”

The Revolution are heading to Pennsylvania to take on the Philadelphia Union for a Saturday afternoon kickoff (2:30…

[5132
5229,49873,89028,1448,2830,1311,123713,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-238872","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-philadelphia","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-mls-regular-season","10":"tag-new-england-revolution","11":"tag-pa","12":"tag-pennsylvania","13":"tag-philadelphia","14":"tag-phivsne-09-20-2025","15":"tag-united-states","16":"tag-united-states-of-america","17":"tag-unitedstates","18":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","19":"tag-us","20":"tag-usa
["GET
